Tim’s Tip/Blog of the Week
In many places of the country, especially the South, with the unusually warm spring temperatures, many fish have spawned and now starting their move from the back of spawning coves and flats. This can be an exciting time for fishing and one bait that is used by many pro’s during this time is a popper. My favorite is the Azuma Popper Z from Profound Outdoors. As bass move out, they will stop at opportune places to recuperate such as logs, bushes, docks, anything that can provide that important shade and ambush point. You want a bait that you can target this cover as well as keep the bait in the strike zone and the Popper Z does just that. In the video below, I show some of my color selections and when I use them as well as some other pointers. Another favorite trick is to watch for the bluegill spawn and throw a Natural Bluegill Popper Z in those spawning areas. Big bass are almost close by waiting for an easy meal. Again, the video below will elaborate more on the Azuma Popper Z from Profound Outdoors. I’m off to Winyah Bay for the second stop of the Bassmaster Elites next week so until then, Tight Lines.
